The School of Biological Sciences is part of the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Sciences. It is made up of three research disciplines, including Ecosystems Biology & Sustainability, Food Safety & Nutrition, and Microbes & Pathogen Biology. Many staff within the School are also members of the Institute for Global Food Security GRI: the Institute is ranked No 1 in the UK for research intensity in Agriculture, Veterinary and Food Sciences (REF 2014).
We are recruiting for a Research Fellow who will be an active member of the research team assisting in the development of research proposals and the planning and delivery of the research activity within a specified area so that the overall research objectives of the project are met.
The successful candidates must have:

Have or about to obtain a PhD in a relevant area to include analytical chemistry.
*
At least 3 years recent relevant research.
*
Practical laboratory experience in ICP-MS, LC-MS, spectroscopy and general analytical approaches.
*
Experience maintaining and servicing associated equipment such as ICP-MS and LC-MSt
