Job description
Applications are invited for the post of Research Fellow in the School of Natural and Built Environment within Queen's University Belfast. Based in Geography, this is a full-time post tenable until September 30th 2020. The successful candidate will work as part of the Northern Ireland Longitudinal Study Research Support Unit (NILS-RSU) team seeking to
expand the range and social impact of research undertaken using the NILS.
The role will involve identifying new research and policy areas for NILS-based research; liaising with current and prospective academic and non-academic NILS users to develop and mentor research projects; undertaking research using the NILS and employing appropriate methodologies; preparing material for publication; promoting the research and policy impact of the NILS through the organisation and delivery of conference presentations, briefing papers and training workshops; and assisting the Director in reporting to ESRC and other external bodies.
You will have a first degree in a social science discipline such as Sociology, Geography or Public Health and have (or be about to obtain) a PhD. You will also have relevant research experience and a good knowledge of quantitative methods, preferably including software such as SPSS, Stata and/or R.
