Manufacturing Engineer - Project Manager
Job description
For over 50yrs, Queen's University Belfast, through the Northern Ireland Technology Centre, has been supporting innovation with local industry. We have recently invested GBP 7.5M in new advanced manufacturing technologies aimed at supporting collaborative innovation activity with Industry. We are currently recruiting engineers to deliver our current
project portfolio with an aim to establishing capability for our future growth plans. This is an exciting opportunity for all engineers with an interest in innovation to become part of an exciting project to deliver advance manufacturing knowledge and capability within Northern Ireland industry and beyond.
You will project manage research, design and research-support activities focussed mainly on manufacturing, working in collaboration with NITC staff, technology providers, national technology centres, academia and industry to deliver key projects. In this role you will play a key role where you will support and develop project management and delivery strategies for the NITC and industry alike.
The successful candidate must have:
A primary degree or a minimum of five years' experience in a project delivery role
At least 3 years' experience of project co-ordination maintaining extensive medium term project plans and associated documentation within an engineering, manufacturing or academic environment including:
Experience of working on relevant technical projects.
Experience of developing and implementing project management processes and procedures.
Experience of working on projects with funding from regional, national or EU bodies.
Co-ordination and delivery of claims, reports and associated audits to funding bodies or government agencies.
Previous experience of successful project management, with evidence of oversight and management of core project resources
Driving project delivery through effective planning and monitoring of key project milestones
Successful stakeholder/partner engagement, with a proven record of influencing and negotiation.
The production of a suite of complex project management information to inform any decision making
The effective use of project management tool and techniques including project management software
