Job description
Applications are invited from entry level academics or early career post-doctoral fellows to help us develop our research and teaching in the areas of Geotechnical Engineering. The School of Natural and Built Environment is seeking to make a positive contribution to the global technical challenges of our age, and the field of Civil Engineering leads society
in developing the solutions required. We encourage applications related to the areas of Offshore Geotechnical Foundations or the Influence of Climate Change on Geotechnics. We particularly encourage applications from candidates whose work has strong industry linkage and who expect to hold chartered membership of a relevant Engineering Institution. In joining our team, you will have access to outstanding teaching and research facilities.
Key duties
To demonstrate leadership by undertaking, or contributing to, major Institute, School, Faculty or University initiatives to grow research income, improve postgraduate experience and improve international student intake.
To inspire and motivate students to learn.
To contribute to leadership and administrative processes of The Civil Engineering discipline at a level commensurate with stage in career.
Our staff and students come from all over the world and we strongly believe in an inclusive and supportive work culture. We recognise the changing demands of family life and the need for flexibility in working arrangements to meet these demands.
