The School of Mathematics & Physics at Queen’s University Belfast, is seeking a Research Fellow to undertake theoretical research in quantum networking and the interface between quantum and classical systems.
This project is funded by the Department for Economy (DfE) under the US-Ireland R&D partnership programme. The post holder will assume responsibility for the delivery of specific research objectives held by the Principal Investigator (PI), Prof M. Paternostro.
We are looking for an individual who has strong research experience in one or more of the following areas: theoretical quantum optics, open quantum systems, condensed matter physics, quantum information processing, and quantum technologies.
This is an exciting opportunity to get involved in a cutting-edge research programme. The successful candidate will become a member of the Quantum Technology group at Queen’s University Belfast (QTeQ) and will work within the international team led by Dr. G. De Chiara, Dr. A. Ferraro, and Prof M. Paternostro.

This is a fixed term contract available until 31 January 2025.
Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
