Renewable and sustainable energy practises are essential in the response to the climate emergency. An objective orientated control for forced ventilation drying system is essential in reducing losses and increasing sustainable practices in woodchip production for biomass boilers.
Two primary challenges are faced to make such a system efficient. Firstly, insight into the drying performance which will require the development and testing of novel data capture methods. Secondly, objective orientated control system which will co-ordinate multiple actuator responses controlling the multiple stages of the forced ventilation drying process.
Applicants are invited from any nationality to join our team as a Research Fellow working alongside the industry partners Eden Project Foyle, Brook Hall Estate and B9 Energy on a 12 month fixed term contract with a funding end date of 29th September 2021.
The ambition of this project is to meet the thermal energy needs of the Eden Project Foyle development. This ambitious project seeks to rejuvenate the historic riverside estates, transforming them in a similar manner to the Eden Project in Cornwall. The project will open up 250 acres of previously inaccessible land to the public, providing recreational space, entertainment and learning.
