Project Manager for Primary Care Development (Part Time)
Job description
The Northern Ireland Centre for Pharmacy Learning and Development (NICPLD) provides over 1,000 hours of learning opportunity each year to pharmacists, pre-registration trainees and pharmacy technicians. While the live and distance learning programmes remain the cornerstone of the Centre's activities, NICPLD encourages pharmacists to engage in other
learning opportunities. Accredited and vocational training is provided by NICPLD. The postgraduate certificate in pharmacy prescribing (6 months) has been running since 2003, while the vocational programme (2 years) for junior hospital pharmacists started in 2008. Accredited courses for pharmacy technicians who wish to train as ACTs and PODs technicians are also provided. NICPLD delivers the mandatory courses that pre-registration trainees are required to complete.
The Project Manager for Primary Care Development will manage, develop and lead the training of pharmacists working in general medical practices across Northern Ireland. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing highly specialist clinical pharmacy education and training across Northern Ireland acting as an advanced practitioner in this area. This is a new strategic role to develop and maintain excellence for pharmacists and is central to Government policy to expand capacity within Primary care. Responsibilities of the role will include the planning, design, development and the implementation of foundation and advanced practice training for pharmacists working in general medical practices. This is a part time role (0.8 FTE) up until 31st July 2019 but may be extended until 31st July 2020. Secondments from other organisations will be considered for this post.
