In line with the wider Higher Education sector, Queen's faces a number of challenges and opportunities in relation to its tax affairs.
Universities and other Higher Education Bodies are experiencing challenging times in the area of taxation. There is undoubtedly an increase in Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC) attention on the sector, and as a result, diligence is required by members of the University to comply with all relevant guidelines.
The Tax Manager will have responsibility for the tax affairs of the University and its subsidiary companies. Core duties will include strategic tax planning, ensuring statutory tax compliance and providing tax guidance and advice as required. This is an important position and the post holder will be a key member of the Finance Directorate responsible for recognising and responding to a variety of taxation issues, driving the University's tax strategy and ensuring full tax compliance. The role covers all forms of tax, with a principal focus on VAT. The post-holder will be expected to have, and maintain, an extensive knowledge of relevant tax legislation.
Please note that this is a full-time permanent position, however applicants who wish to work on a part-time or flexible basis will also be considered.
