The Research Contracts team is a highly-motivated team of contracts experts who play a leading role in drafting and negotiating the agreements that serve as vehicles for implementing positive collaborative relationships with funders, industry partners, health service bodies and other academic institutions. The team’s remit covers research within all of QUB, across Medicine & Life Sciences, Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences, and the Engineering & Physical Sciences faculties. Examples of our work include establishment of the Precision Medicine Centre for diagnostics that can predict a cancer patient’s response to treatment; collaborating with innovative industry partners to develop zero emission ferries; and facilitation of research into the impact and consequences of Brexit in Northern Ireland.
The role of Contracts Manager is to provide excellent contracts expertise and guidance to senior management, academic and other professional services staff; lead on contractual negotiations and execution of multi-party, multi-jurisdiction agreements; mentor other team members and constantly seek to improve our contracting policies and practices. The successful candidate will demonstrate experience, professionalism and enthusiasm for working within a field that is constantly changing.

Thre are two posts available - one permanent post and one fixed term post which is available until 31 October 2023. Fixed term contract post is available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
