The Software Engineering research group at Queen’s University Belfast (QUB) is seeking to appoint a Research Fellow (also known as: Post-doctoral Research Fellow) to join the team on a 24 month fixed-term contract or until 31 December 2023, whichever is soonest.
You will work on one of the Work-Packages (WP) of the highly prestigious European Horizon-2020 project XANDAR (2021-2023), led by Dr. Vahid Garousi. You will work alongside other researchers in QUB and seven other universities and industry partners (such as BMW Group) across Europe on designing and applying Verification & Validation (V&V) and Quality Assurance (QA) techniques to validate and verify functional and non-functional requirements of distributed real-time embedded software systems, to be developed by a novel approach named X-by-Construction. In the context of XANDAR project, the ‘X’ in X-by-Construction refers to aspects such as security, fail-safety, trustworthiness and real-time capability by construction.
The successful candidate should have solid knowledge and experience of software engineering, software testing, Verification & Validation (V&V) and Quality Assurance (QA). You should have a demonstrable background in software engineering evidenced by publications in top-tier journals and conferences.
