The post holder will play a major leadership role in the establishment and development of a Postdoctoral Development Centre (PDC). The PDC will provide training and development support for postdoctoral researchers across the Faculty such that they are better equipped for both academic and non-academic career tracks. The post holder will manage the PDC and lead,facilitate delivery and evaluate the Faculty's programme of support and development. They will ensure that all services are of the highest quality and relevance and that services continually evolve to meet the diverse and changing needs of the Faculty and its Postdoctoral researchers. The post holder will also contribute to strategic planning to ensure the long term maintenance and expansion of the Centre and will coordinate communications with postdocs, Faculty staff and internal and external stakeholders. The post holder will ensure success of the PDC identifiable through:
- involvement of Postdoctoral researchers in high profile publications;
- progression of Postdoctoral researchers to competitive/leadership positions within and outside academic research;
- the generation of grant income at PI and Postdoctoral level;
- establishment of an alumni-like network of QUB Postdoctoral fellows;
- improved career development outcomes and societal impacts.
