Professor of Psychology (Perception and Action)
Job description
The School of Psychology holds a Gold Athena SWAN award that recognises the work that it has done in supporting gender equality.
As part of its strategic development, the School of Psychology is seeking to appoint a new Chair in the area of Perception and Action, to join an existing research team that includes researchers with expertise in motor control, human
skill acquisition, visual and auditory perception, movement disorders, neurorehabilitation, and electrophysiology. The scope and impact of the work conducted by the group is augmented through collaborative links with engineering, medicine, the rehabilitation sciences, and the creative arts. (for more information:

In addition to representing a unique concentration of researchers with expertise in Perception and Action, the group also has world-leading facilities, including multiple motion capture systems, posturography, EEG, fNIRS, EMG, TMS, and a 6m x 23m multi-purpose re-configurable lab space that is equipped with systems for the generation of immersive VR environments.

Applicants must conduct research in an area of Perception and Action Psychology that consolidates and enhances existing research strengths in the School. They must have an outstanding track record of research excellence, as well as extensive experience of teaching psychology undergraduates and supervising PhD students.
