Research Fellow
Job description
The Centre for Wireless Innovation at Queen's University Belfast is seeking to appoint one (1) Research Fellow for 11 months (extendable to 17 months pending funder approval) in order to carry out research on millimetre-wave massive MIMO techniques, as part of a project funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council.
The successful candidate
will work closely to design theoretical and practical solutions to reduce the digital signal processing complexity, power consumption and RF circuitry/antennas for mm-wave massive MIMO configurations. The proposed solutions will leverage the hybrid processing paradigm, where a portion of digital processing will be performed in the analogue domain. At the end of the project, the research team will have built a unique energy-efficient, mm-wave massive MIMO demonstrator of minimum complexity. The candidate will join a vibrant research group of 60 people, including 13 academics. The candidate will also have the opportunity to contribute to the research activities of the new Queen's Global Research Institute on Electronics, Communications and Information Technology (ECIT-2).
