Research Fellow
Job description
The Administrative Data Research Network (ADRN) is a UK-wide partnership between universities, national statistics authorities, the Economic and Social Research Council, government departments and agencies, the third sector, funders and researchers.
The Administrative Data Research Centre for Northern Ireland (ADRC-NI) is one of the four centres
across the UK, working in partnership with Queen's University, Belfast, Ulster University and the Northern Ireland Statistics Research Agency (NISRA). It is charged with the remit of increasing access to routine administrative data for approved research projects undertaken by accredited researchers.
The Centre works with government departments in Northern Ireland - including Employment & Learning, Education, Health & Social Care, Agriculture, Environment, Social Development and Justice - to understand more about issues such as unemployment, ill health, education and our benefits-related culture.
The ADRC-NI based at Queen's University Belfast is seeking to recruit two experienced and highly motivated Research Fellows who have strong quantitative skills and experience of working with large datasets to join their team in undertaking a programme of work utilising linked administrative datasets. The posts will explore two separate themes;
the long-term mental health and social outcomes of children known to social services (led by Dr Aideen Maguire) and
the impact on disparities in general dental practitioner service use following the introduction of the Index of Treatment Need (IOTN) for orthodontic care in NI in 2014 (led by Prof Ciaran O'Neill).
