The School of Pharmacy at Queen's has been ranked 2nd in the latest rankings in the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2020 for Pharmacology and Pharmacy.
The China Medical University-The Queen's University of Belfast Joint College (CQC) was established in the People's Republic of China (PRC) through a long-standing friendship between Queen's School of Pharmacy and the China Medical University (CMU), one of the foremost medical universities in China. CQC is a College that has the full approval from the China Ministry of Education (MoE) and was created in accord with the MoE 'Cooperation in Running Schools' (CIRS) Regulations.
The first students graduated from CQC in July 2018, with many opportunities thereafter for CQC graduates to enter onto postgraduate courses at Queen's Schools in Belfast. Queen's also operate student exchange programmes in the student's final year in CQC so that our students in Shenyang gain the full Queen's experience.
In addition, CQC is an exciting and highly active centre of research for Queen's within China. CMU has a vibrant research community and Queen's staff collaborate and publish in a number of areas within the health sciences. It is anticipated that this relationship will be further strengthened, allowing Queen's to further improve their international links, and to continue with a programme of world-leading, life-saving research.
We are recruiting for a Senior Lecturer (Education)/Director of Education for CQC. In the role of Director of Education the successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of education and student management within CQC. This will include, for example, the management of education and driving forward of quality in all aspects of educational delivery at undergraduate level.
The Senior Lecturer (Education) will lead the development of the teaching and learning activities of CQC by pursuing new and innovative teaching approaches, taking the responsibility for the quality of course units and delivering a range of teaching, learning and assessment activities including lectures, setting/marking coursework, practicals, and fieldwork according to own area of subject specialism.
The successful Senior Lecturer (Education) /Director of Education must have:

Primary Degree.
*
PhD completed in a relevant subject.
*
Sustained record of high-quality outputs relevant to the discipline or its teaching.
*
Extensive experience in the development, organisation and administration of complex programmes /projects within Industry and/or education.
*
An established reputation in teaching within a subject.
*
Extensive experience in the development, organisation and administration of undergraduate degree programmes, and of student management.
*
Substantial teaching experience at University level having designed new and innovative modules/pathways or assessment methods in own subject, with a record of good student evaluations and/or teaching awards.
This is a Senior Lecturer position for 5 years, the role of Director of Education is tenable for 3 years, with the possibility to be extended for a further 2 years. The position is based at CQC with normally two visits to Belfast per year.
