Job description
With our subject formally established at Queens University Belfast in 1912 we have over 100 years of engineering pedigree, and have recently completed a GBP 17m investment in the refit of our laboratory & teaching facilities.
The School's vision is to be world-leading in research and teaching, addressing global challenges and the needs of society through
knowledge creation and dissemination. We are proud of the strong links we continue to develop with industry, both nationally and internationally.
All of our Undergraduate and Postgraduate taught programmes are fully accredited by either the Institute of Mechanical Engineers or the Royal Aeronautical Society
Our multi-national School proudly holds an ATHENA SWAN Silver award - acknowledging our inclusive ethos.
Delivering action packed dynamic undergraduate and post graduate courses for a changing world you will inspire students to develop their understanding and thinking to become industry leaders of the future.
You will be part of a group of academics who are currently ranked 6th in the UK for research intensity [Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014), and will be expected to develop and lead original research.
Exceptional candidates with research track records in control systems and industrial automation are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate would also be expected to contribute to teaching aspects of either mechanical engineering design, mechanics of machines or control theory.
The level of appointment would be determined by the selection panel following interview.
