Job description
We are recruiting for part time Childcare Assistants who will work as part of a team in the University Childcare facility. The successful candidates will work with a children of all age ranges and foster an environment in which the needs of the children are met. You will provide a warm, secure environment which will foster the child's physical, intellectual,
emotional and social development.
Our Childcare facilities promote the ethos of a happy, caring atmosphere within a stimulating learning environment. We offer a varied programme of activities nurturing the development of the whole child delivered through the medium of play.
Children have an innate interest and curiosity about their environment. As such we provide a full range of stimulating age-appropriate activities that foster the children's progress in specific areas of learning.These include development in personal, social and emotional skills, language skills, physical skills, mathematical concepts, art and the world around us.
Our varied programmes offer opportunities for indoor and outdoor play and are carefully designed to consider the needs of all the children in our care.
There are part time temporary posts (18.5 hours) available initially for 1 year.
The successful candidate must have:
Secondary school education and QCF Level 2 Diploma in Child Care, Learning and Development or Playwork or equivalent.
Previous experience in a similar environment ranging from 6 weeks to 11 years typically up to 1 year.
One of the posts requires a current full UK valid driving licence
