Manufacturing Engineer - Product & Process Verification Advanced Manufacturing
Job description
For over 50yrs, Queen's University Belfast, through the Northern Ireland Technology Centre, has been supporting innovation with local industry. We have recently invested GBP 7.5M in new advanced manufacturing technologies aimed at supporting collaborative innovation activity with Industry. We are currently recruiting engineers to deliver our current
project portfolio with an aim to establishing capability for our future growth plans. This is an exciting opportunity for all engineers with an interest in innovation to become part of an exciting project to deliver advance manufacturing knowledge and capability within Northern Ireland industry and beyond.
You will support Advanced Metrology and related activities to Product and Process verification within NITC, utilising specialist knowledge and experience of methods and processes, to generate innovative research outputs, which have a direct economic and technical benefit. You will work collaboratively with academia, technology providers, national technology centres, and industry to deliver key projects focussed on Advanced Metrology and related activities to Product and Process verification activities. This post is available for 30 months with a strict funding end date of 30 September 2022.
The successful candidate must have:
*
Honours Degree, HND or equivalent, in related engineering discipline with at least five years' relevant experience
*
Competent in the application of manufacturing technology in your selected technology areas, with clear experience of using supporting computer aided manufacturing solutions
*
Strong evidence of complex problem solving skills with a proven ability to develop innovative solutions
*
Experience of using research tools and techniques resulting in high quality project and technical reports
