The Centre for Experimental Medicine is an interdisciplinary research centre which is committed to the highest quality scientific endeavour, with over 250 basic and clinical scientists working on site. Our mission is to understand the mechanisms ofdisease and use that understanding to develop innovative new treatments and therapies to improve patient outcomes.
We are recruiting for a Research Fellow in Epigenetics who will be a highly productive, ambitious and collaborative member of the Gene Regulation Group led by Dr. Vijay Tiwari in the Centre for Experimental Medicine (https://pure.qub.ac.uk/portal/en/persons/vijay-tiwari(00840e49-e9a3-4a17-a82c-829dfd52a920).html). The position will contribute to internationally competitive research on epigenetic regulation of cell-fate specification during development.
The Tiwari Team is based in the award winning Wellcome-Wolfson Building providing state-of-the-art labs and research facilities. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic and collaborative team, a vibrant, international postdoc community and have access to personal development opportunities.
The Tiwari group employs high-throughput epigenomics assays such as ChIP-seq and RNA-seq in combination with developmental biology and cutting-edge epigenetics and molecular biology tools. The resulting data sets are analysed using computational and systems biology approaches to generate comprehensive models of epigenetic regulation of gene expression during embryonic development. The successful applicant will have responsibilities in independent research, supervision, planning, day-to-day lab management, collaborations and outreach.
