The School of Medicine, Dentistry & Biomedical Sciences (MDBS) at Queen’s University, Belfast is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the post of Research Fellow in the Patrick G Johnston Centre for Cancer Research. This is a fixed term contract until 9 July 2024.
The successful candidate will join the McDade and Labonte-Wilson laboratories as part of the multi-disciplinary Prostate Cancer research team. This exciting cell/molecular biology and functional genomics position funded by Prostate Cancer UK (PCUK) will involve the development of novel 2D, 3D and in vivo prostate cancer models and application of cutting-edge functional genomics analyses including ChIP-seq, RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, Single-cell RNA-seq and CRISPR screens. The project is focussed on the modulation of epigenetics to improve efficacy of ADT/Radiotherapy in poor-prognostic prostate cancers with the ultimate goal of informing novel treatment strategies.
Candidates should have (or have submitted) a Ph.D, have previous genomics and laboratory experience, a publication record commensurate with career stage and ideally experience or an ambition to apply for personal funding.
