Information Services provides the digital campus and Library Resources to support teaching, research and innovation for all the University's students, staff and visitors. Our primary objective is to provide the highest quality user-facing services and associated enabling functions.
The post holder will be responsible for the strategic direction, leadership and management of library services in Queen's University Belfast. This is an exciting opportunity to take a senior leadership role in a vibrant and forward-looking service environment. You will manage the delivery of high quality, user focused and responsive services to support and drive forward the University's vision in relation to learning and teaching and world-class research.
You will be a member of the Information Services Senior Management Team, working with other members to provide leadership in the strategic development and delivery of library, information and IT services across the University.
The successful candidate must have:
* Candidates must be qualified librarians with a degree or a postgraduate qualification in librarianship, information studies or information management.
* Substantial recent and relevant experience in a senior library management role.
* Experience of leading and developing significant teams of staff across a diverse range of Library functions.
* Demonstrable experience of managing and negotiating significant financial resources at a strategic level.
* Experience of developing and delivering significant strategies and policies in a rapidly changing Library environment.
* Experience of leading substantial change and innovative service development programmes in a Library environment
* Experience of leadership in the adoption of new technology in a library context
* Experience of working with and influencing senior stakeholders.
