Job description
You will be leading and managing the strategy, planning, development and delivery of Library Services for staff and students primarily in the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Sciences; Health and Social Care (HSC) staff in Northern Ireland; and staff in the Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute (AFBI).
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Library
Services team, with the successful candidate ensuring the delivery of high quality, user-focused and responsive services. This is a rewarding opportunity, with the chance to engage with a number of key stakeholders within Health and Social Care and develop the provision of library services to healthcare professionals across Northern Ireland.
You will be managing a team of approximately 35 staff based across different sites and driving customer excellent within the service.

The successful candidate must have:

Library qualification with a degree or a postgraduate qualification in librarianship, information studies or information management
*
Significant (minimum 5 years) recent and relevant management and leadership experience in a library management role
*
Experience of managing and developing a significant team (or teams) of staff
*
Demonstrable experience of exploiting IT applications successfully in a Library setting
*
Experience of managing and controlling significant budgets and an understanding of financial management procedures
