The School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering & Computer Science (EEECS) at Queen’s University Belfast, is seeking a highly motivated Research Fellow or an Experienced Research Assistant, to undertake research into advanced efficient graphics processing unit (GPU) solutions for state of the art manufacturing environments.
The post is part of the UKRI-funded Real-time Process Modelling and Diagnostics: Powering Digital Factories (RAPID) project with the University of Edinburgh, Seagate, Glaxo Smith Kline and NVIDIA Research. It aims to develop a new digital modelling and analysis framework based on GPUs for real-time, in-situ processing of manufacturing data. The work will centre on new transprecision computing approaches for algorithm randomisation research and will focus on practical realisation.
It offers an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to join a world class GPU-based research activity focused around the Northern Ireland High-Performance Computing Centre and the significant Belfast Regional City Deal investment that will create an advanced GPU facility.
