Analyst Programmer
Job description
The post holder will be assisting in the implementation, development, administration and support of the University's research support systems and to provide programming and IT advice to the administrative research community. You will be working as part of a team to identify, develop and implement administrative research computer systems and solutions
using appropriate technologies and applications. You will be working within cross-functional teams to assist researchers in developing applications in support of research projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for you to work on all layers of the application development stack, from bare metal to UI. You will be using industry standard and leading edge technologies, helping to share the future direction of Administrative Research IT in Queen's University. There are flexible start and end times and you will enjoy a good work-life balance, where a DevOps ethos allows you to work in collaboration within a collegial environment.

The successful candidate must have:

Honours or higher degree (or equivalent qualification) with a demonstrated significant programming component OR evidence of substantial professional experience in the computing industry.
*
A minimum of 3 years' recent proven experience working in a computing environment in a role that involves systems support, program development and user support for web-based, database driven applications.
*
Experience of systems administration in recent Windows or Linux environments.
*
Experience in working with users to analyse computing requirements and assist with implementing a solution.
*
Experience in application development using one or more of: PHP, JavaScript, C#, python, Perl, Java.
