The School of Biological Sciences is part of the Faculty of Medicine,Health and Life Sciences. It is made upof three research disciplines, including Ecosystems Biology &Sustainability, Food Safety & Nutrition, and Microbes & PathogenBiology. Most staff within the Schoolare also members of the Institute for Global Food Security GRI: the Instituteis ranked No 1 in the UK for research intensity in Agriculture, Veterinary andFood Sciences (REF 2014).
The School aims to enhance the way we use technology in research, food security,microbiology, ecosystem biology, sustainability and many other relatedareas. The School prides itself on providinginnovative teaching methods and a high-tech learning environment for ourstudents and has been awarded the prestigious Athena SWAN Gold award inrecognition of its work to support women in science.
We are recruiting for a Research Assistant who will be anactive member of the research team assisting in the planning and delivery ofresearch led by Dr Katrina Campbell at the Institute of Global Food Securitywithin the framework of the H2020 EU project Eurobiotox. This research projectis a European Program for the Establishment of Validated Procedures for theDetection and Identification of Biological Toxins.
