Library services continues to provide a leading service to staff and students in Queen's and this has been recognised with the Customer Service Accreditation which is independently awarded based on the quality and standard of customer care. Library services first attained this accreditation in 2015 and have retained it since then due to the excellent standard set by their staff.
As the Institutional Repository Officer you will be responsible for the population and development of the institutional repository (Research Portal). You will accomplish this by leading and developing a team of Senior Library Assistants to verify meta data entries in the repository system ensuring accurate inclusion of associated research journal papers and research data.
You will review policies and procedures along with all relevant stakeholders to update and implement best practice regarding compliance with research funder open access, copyright regulations, metadata standards and research data management policies. You will continue with your own CPD to ensure your knowledge of copyright legislation for academic publishing and research funder policies are adequate and up to standard.
Your experience will enable innovative thinking to help identify opportunities for new approaches to systems/methods and enhancing the overall service such as UK Scholarly Communications Licence (UK-SCL).
