Job description
The Institute for Global Food Security sits within the School of Biological Sciences at Queen's. The Institute is leading the world in addressing one of the greatest global challenges - how to ensure the safety of our food.
Our researchers track and prevent contamination of crops, animal feeds and foods. They help detect fraud along the supply chain and develop
advanced food provenance systems, help to improve the quality of crops and the health of farm animals and their resistance to disease.
The Research Fellow position is part of a 4-year multi-disciplinary European Union Horizon2020 project entitled 'Microbiome Applications for Sustainable food systems through Technologies and EnteRprise'. The successful candidate will undertake research investigating the effects of microalgae on ruminant phenotype and ensure all milestones and deliverables are met in a timely manner. This project will involve wet laboratory work and working with sheep. The emphasis of this position is laboratory and computational based including analysis of 'omic data sets.
