Communications Officer (Maternity Cover)
Job description
You will be creating innovative and impactful content to promote the reputation and brand of Queen's University and to engage with the media in local, national and international markets. You will be an excellent communicator, having the ability to engage with university colleagues, members of the public, media agencies and external partners.
You will be
providing colleagues with expert advice on how to communicate to a varied external audience, identifying appropriate marketing and communications channels for materials produced. You will be working within a team of 10, as part of a fast-paced, award-winning marketing and communications team. Please note that this position is available on a fixed term basis, until the 23rd November 2020.
The successful candidate must have:
Degree or equivalent qualification in relevant subject such as journalism or communications.
3+ years' relevant employment experience as a journalist or public relations/press officer.
Experience of writing news releases, speeches and corporate copy.
Experience of working with local and national media.
Experience of working with social media to execute marketing and communications objectives.
Experience in using MS Office packages, particularly, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
