Job description
The Northern Ireland Cancer Registry is located in the Centre for Public Health, Queen's University Belfast and is funded by the Public Health Agency for Northern Ireland. The Registry is responsible for the production of Official Statistics on cancer incidence, prevalence and survival in Northern Ireland and provides evidence to help inform decision
making about cancer services. We collect patient information on their disease and the services they receive. This work uses data provided by patients and collected by the health service as part of their care and support.
This part time 0.8 FTE post is available for 17 months. The Project Manager will coordinate and project manage the establishment of cardiovascular datasets for Northern Ireland and key responsibilities of the role will include:
Establish a project steering group
Develop ethical and governance/approval
Develop minimum datasets for registration and establishment of the database within a secure environment to receive data sources to identify duplicate notifications
Organise data quality checks by review of a selection of patient's records,
Undertake data analysis
Produce reports and peer reviewed publications and organisation of a conference.
The work will be undertaken within a highly secure environment using multiple electronic data sources.
