The Wellcome Wolfson Institute for Experimental Medicine (WWIEM) is an interdisciplinary research centre which is committed to the highest quality scientific endeavour, with over 250 basic and clinical scientists working on site. Our mission is to understand the mechanisms of disease and use that understanding to develop innovative new treatments and therapies to improve patient outcomes.
We are recruiting for a Technician to work in the research group led by Dr Reinhold Medina to provide technical support to a research project funded by BBSRC to investigate Ageing in Blood Vessels. The project will employ a broad range of cell and molecular biological approaches using in vitro and in vivo model systems to study vascular ageing. The successful candidate will integrate and support a research group of 12 scientists including PhDs, junior and senior Postdoctoral researchers.
The post is suited to a highly ambitious individual and is available for 3 years or until 31/12/22 (whichever is sooner).
The successful candidate must:
Academic and/or vocational qualifications i.e. 5 GCSE's A-C and/or NVQ level 2 in relevant subject (or equivalent).
One year's work experience in a relevant role to include recent experience in laboratory research using equipment or techniques relevant to the role.
