The School of Medicine, Dentistry & Biomedical Sciences (MDBS) at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the post of Technician within the Patrick G Johnston Centre for Cancer Research. The successful candidate will undertake specialist technical and analytical duties for the diagnostics and clinical research activities of the Precision Medicine Centre of Excellence (PMC). They will carry out experimental and analytical molecular diagnostics as well as tissue based hybridisation investigations and Digital Pathology evaluations. The postholder will also provide support and perform core laboratory activities for the validation and standardisation of novel procedures, techniques and tests and assist in training of new staff members and visitors. This post is fixed term until 30 April 2023. Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
