Job description
A Research Technician position is available for 1 year, with the perspective of further contract extension on annual basis. The successful candidate will provide technical support for a multi-disciplinary research team, and will be in charge of an extensive suite of analytical equipment. The candidate will be required to perform simple organic syntheses
following standard procedures, and perform full characterisation of the products.
The Research Technician will be based in The QUILL Research Centre, an established research centre for ionic liquids and other advanced liquid materials, located in the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Queen's University Belfast. QUILL has very strong links with the industry, and a substantial track record in terms of both publications and patents. It currently associates fourteen academics (PIs) from eight countries, working across physics, chemistry and engineering, and hosts a number of PDRAs and postgraduate students from around the globe, providing a vibrant and truly international working environment.
