The School is seeking to strengthen further its academic reputation by appointing a Professor of Accounting to provide research leadership in line with the School’s research strategy, to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate level and to contribute to the School’s administration/external engagement activity.
This is an important position within the Accounting Group in Queen’s Management School. At a time of growth, the successful candidate has the potential to shape and strengthen the future direction of the Group from both a research and teaching perspective, including enhancing the opportunities for PhD study. Moreover, the supportive research environment enables attendance at national/international conferences and facilitates a sustained track record of published research.
You will be working with colleagues whose research is internationally renowned for excellence and high societal impact and will have an opportunity to teach and supervise our excellent undergraduate and postgraduate taught and research students.

Queen’s Management School is one of the top Business Schools in the UK and Ireland and has been educating business professionals and leaders for more than forty years. Queen’s Management School has four departments – Accounting, Economics, Finance and Management. The School now has over 120 academic and support staff with 2,900 taught students and 40 students undertaking PhDs.
The Accounting Group at Queen’s Management School is consistently ranked in the top 10 in the UK by The Times’ Good University Guide and the Complete University Guide. Students have also ranked the undergraduate finance programme first among Russell Group Finance degrees in the National Student Survey 2020. There are at present 12 fulltime academic members of staff within the Accounting Group. The Accounting Group has primary responsibility for one undergraduate (BSc Accounting) and one postgraduate taught (MSc Accounting & Finance) degrees. Each Accounting degree is professionally accredited/recognised.
Over a period of years, the Accounting Group in Queen’s Management School has developed critical research mass, expertise, networks and reputation in the areas of: accounting and reporting, accounting change, governance and performance management in not-for-profit organisations; and accounting, budgeting and accounting change in public sector organisations. The research focus and strengths of the Accounting Group align with the School’s Centre for Not-for-profit and Public-sector Research (CNPR), an interdisciplinary research centre which aims to promote research into issues relating to public-sector and not-for-profit organisations.
