Job description
To be an active member of a research team assisting in the development of
a chemical approach for volatile fatty acid (VFA) capture and removal from liquid Anaerobic Digestion waste. This will involve,synthesis and characterisation of polymer or composite sorbents, evaluation of VFA removal using a variety of analytical methods, and the design of an extraction
process
for implementation of the produced materials to recovery and recycling of VFA from different waste streams.
The post holder will be responsible for the planning and delivery of the research activity within this project so that the overall research objectives of the project are met. The post is supported by Invest NI
via
the Agri-Food Quest Competence Centre and is in collaboration with NUI Galway and the Dairy Processing Technology Centre (DPTC). This post is available immediately and the project duration is 24 months.
