as part of the prestigious Newton Institutional Link with an aim to propose a novel communications scheme to cope with the natural disaster by using 5G technologies for example amateur drones (aka UAV). The research aimed to leverage contemporary wireless technologies and infrastructure to meet the demand for
connectivity
in the context of natural disasters in developing countries, where poor infrastructure and underdeveloped economy in the rural and high energy consumption and pollution in the urban (due to fast urbanisation) are affecting the lives of people. The research fellow will work directly with Dr. Trung Q. Duong
Pure Profile
The project is available from 12 February 2019 until 10 February 2021 and will be conducted at Centre for Wireless Innovation, Global Research Institute (GRI), The Institute of Electronics, Communications and Information Technology (ECIT), School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EEECS)
The successful candidate should hold a PhD in relevant discipline, such as Electronics, Electrical Engineering, have a background and expertise in realtime optimisation, disaster communications, signal processing, and wireless communications.
