The School of Mathematics & Physics at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the post of Research Fellow to model the interfaces and defects of the wide-band-gap semiconductor Ga2O3 from first principles.
The research will be carried out as a part of the US-Ireland Research & Development Partnership project “Ga2O3: Understanding Growth, Interfaces and Defects to enable next generation Electronics” (USI-195, “GUIDE”). The modelling part co-ordinated by Dr Lorenzo Stella and Dr Myrta Gruening at Queen’s University Belfast (QUB) is expected to help with the device characterisation and synthesis done in the experimental groups directed by Professor Robert Bowman and partners at the Tyndall National Institute (TNI) in Cork, Republic of Ireland, and the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD).
The successful candidate will join the School of Mathematics and Physics at Queen’s University Belfast. This is a fixed term post for 30 months. Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
