Applications are invited for an engineering workshop technician role within the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering within Queen's University Belfast. This post is a full-time and permanent role.The successful candidate will join our technical team in our CNC engineering machine shop providing support for undergrad and research student projects.
The role will require you to generate machine tool code,program and operation of CNC machines, primarily lathes and milling machine susing off-line Programming Systems and CAM software, to provide assistance to academic/technical staff and students in the development, construction and modification of components and apparatus using conventional and computerised engineering processes including computer aided drawings.
Applicants should hold either OND/ONC and/or NVQ level 3 or above (or equivalent standard) in an engineering discipline and/or apprenticeship in a precision manufacturing environment, together with 3 years relevant work experience to include programming and operation of CNC machine tools, lathe's and milling machines, manufacture of component parts to a high level of precision using CNC and conventional means.
