We are looking to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in computational modelling of new generation maritime composite structures.
The purpose of this position is to join the Advanced Composites Research Group (ACRG) in the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Queen’s University Belfast, and contribute to world-leading research in the computational modelling of composite materials and structures. The successful candidate will also contribute to the development of a high-fidelity computational tool which will enable designers and operators to assess the influence of in-service damage, on operability, of the fibre reinforced composite eFoil propulsion system proposed for a new generation of maritime vessels.
This is a 3 year fixed term position and would ideally need someone in post by 11 January 2021.

The Advanced Composites research group was born out of a collaboration between Academia, Industry and Government.
It is a technology hub for the research and development of advanced engineering and advanced materials technologies across a range of industrial sectors. Promoting the development of skills and rapid knowledge transfer between the universities and industry, ensuring the development of innovative new product and manufacturing technologies.
The School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering has over 40 academic staff and 24 research staff. With a technical team of 8 and 26 support staff we have the human resource to provide a first class service.
The School has strong links with industry in the form of collaborative projects and student placements. The curriculum is heavily informed by industry representatives who sit on an advisory board within the School.
