Job description
The Centre for Wireless Innovation (CWI) is the UK's largest research, development and exploitation base in physical layer wireless, and one of the strongest in Europe. Our 60 engineers and scientists invent underpinning technologies for Mobile, Medical and Space applications.
Some of our exciting areas of research include massive MIMO, mmWave cellular
communications, retrodirective antennas, flat self-steered high gain active antennas (>24 GHz), secure and energy-efficient small cell networks, optimising 5G networks, IoT and Industry 4.0, C-V2X, next-generation EO satellites, high-efficiency switched-mode power amplifiers and implantable medical devices.
Testament to our achievements, recently, at the 2018 GSMA Mobile World Scholars Awards, CWI researchers, Dr Neil Buchanan and Prof Vince Fusco, won Gold at the GSMA Mobile World Scholar Challenge.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Queen's University Belfast, whether you are a Senior Lecturer, Reader or Professor this may be the opportunity for you.
You will be joining a School that is highly research driven and currently holds the Investors in People Silver Award (the only School within the University) which recognises the School's efforts in creating a conducive learning environment promoting excellence for our people and helping build our future leaders.
Commensurate with your post you will undertake research aligned to the Global Research Institute and School to contribute towards the overarching strategy and targets of the University. You will provide key leadership for the growth of research funding/income and overall student engagement by developing/refining curriculum, content delivery, assessments and future employability of students.
