The School of School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to recruit a talented Research Assistant to support the research of the Queen’s University Belfast and MBDA collaborative research team. The work will focus on an assessment of the procedural & methodological readiness of design functions for the process of certification by analysis. The processes and methods relate to the structural and functional performance of complex systems (e.g. unmanned air system – UAS).

About the person:
Successful applicants will have responsibilities in process review & documentation, independent research, collaborating with the QUB team and outreach. Direct collaboration with MBDA will be a key aspect of the role, including regular meetings with engineers from the company.

This post is available for 7 months from January 2026. Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
