To be an active member of an exciting industry-academia collaborative research programme/team assisting in the development of novel antimicrobial formulations for infection control based on hypochlorous acid or plasma activated liquids (PAL), so that the overall research objectives of the project are met. This project involves close collaboration a growing company in the antimicrobial and infection control space, which offers exceptional opportunities to meet industrial clients and participate in knowledge transfer activities. The successful candidate, will be based at the School of Pharmacy, QUB, and will be responsible for assay development, screening, analysis and characterisation of novel formulations, developing bacterial - fungal mixed species biofilm assays for antimicrobial susceptibility analysis, and contributing to the day-to-day activities of the research group and research consortium.
The post holder will be based in the School of Pharmacy and will work under the supervision of Prof Brendan Gilmore (School of Pharmacy).

The post is available on a fixed term contract for 10 months. Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
