The Centre for Public Health, School of Medicine, Dentistry & Biomedical Sciences (MDBS) at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint a Research Fellow.

The post will entail working as part of a wider research team on a HSC R&D Division-funded project which feeds into an NIHR-funded randomised controlled trial (RCT) entitled: Evaluation of a sustainable obesity prevention programme delivered at scale ‘HENRY’ (Health, Exercise, Nutrition for the Really Young): Effectiveness, cost-effectiveness and its role in obesity prevention within the wider complex system.

  
The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate you have:

• Obtained or be about to obtain a PhD in Public Health, Nutrition, Dietetics or a closely related discipline.
• Specific, recent, relevant experience in human nutrition/dietetics, obesity or other closely related areas.
• Experience of undertaking (design, delivery, and/or evaluation) of public health interventions/services.
• Experience of undertaking (design, execution and reporting) qualitative research.
• Experience of recruiting, retaining and engaging with participants for research, including for data collection.
• Experience of preparing ethical approval paperwork for a human study.
• Experience using statistical software packages, e.g. SPSS or similar.

This post is fixed term until 31 January 2027. Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
