The School of Mathematics and Physics at Queen’s University Belfast is seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the post of Research Fellow in Machine Learning for Computational Water Treatment. The standard workflow for removing endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) from drinking water is very intensive in terms of laboratory time and resources.
The successful candidate will use molecular dynamics simulations to build a database for pre-screening a material for EDC removal from water. They will use this database to build machine learning models for use by the water industry to save months of time in predicting the best way to remove a particular molecule from the drinking water.
