Career Opportunities at Queen's

The School of Medicine, Dentistry & Biomedical Sciences (MDBS) at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint two exceptional candidates to the post of Technician in the Wellcome Wolfson Institute for Experimental Science.

The postholders will be based in the Vaccine Immunology Group and work with Dr Beckie Ingram and Prof Miguel Valvano. They will be carrying out in vitro protein production and purification and in vivo protection studies.  

 
The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate you have:

• Academic and/or vocational qualifications (e.g. NVQ 3, 2 A Levels, ONC/OND City and Guilds level 3 or equivalents in a relevant subject).
• 2 years’ relevant work experience to include: Real time PCR, ELISA, Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, cell culture.

There are two fixed term posts available. One post is available for 18 months, and the other is available for 12 months or until 31 July 2024, whichever is sooner. Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
