We are are seeking engineers who want to innovate and apply their knowledge to the challenges of industry and society to support the delivery of automation and robotics projects within AMIC’s advanced manufacturing activities.
The successful candidate will apply their specialist knowledge and experience of methods, processes and process validation to generate innovative research outputs which have a direct economic and technical benefit to companies and sectors. The postholder will work collaboratively with their team, industry, technology providers, national technology centres and academia to deliver key projects focused on advanced manufacturing.
About the person:
To be successful at shortlisting your application must demonstrate the following:
• Honours degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline, science. Consideration will be given to applicants without a degree but who has substantial relevant industrial experience in a similar role.• Significant relevant industrial experience with in depth understanding of fundamental engineering concepts in the application of automation and robotic technologies.• Experience of using 3D CAD solutions to assist with the design of automated systems.• Knowledge of safety systems and their use in automated solutions.• Demonstrable evidence of working within multifaceted environments delivering to deadlines and within budget.• Experience of using research/industrial tools and techniques resulting in high quality projects and technical reports.• Evidence of complex problem-solving skills obtained with a proven ability to develop innovative solutions.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to communicate complex technical information.• Ability to innovate and rapidly contribute to research projects.• Willingness to visit collaborative partners and to attend meetings and conferences nationally and internationally as requested.
