About the job:
Reporting to the Lead Operations Manager, the Operations Manager is responsible for assisting in the provision and delivery of outstanding operational services to Queen’s Accommodation which comprises almost 4000 student beds and 90 staff properties.
The post holder will be responsible for leading the effective day-to-day operation, administration and management of a large team of staff, including housekeeping and facilities teams to ensure that an efficient, effective, profitable and high-quality service is provided.
They will be required to work on a flexible schedule (evenings, weekends, University closure days and public holidays) to provide operational management cover across all Accommodation sites to meet the needs of the service provision.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the delivery of high-quality housekeeping and facilities services across a diverse accommodation portfolio supporting students, staff, and commercial guests. The role is central to ensuring an excellent living and guest experience, maintaining high standards, and driving continuous improvement across all services.
You will take full responsibility for the day-to-day operational management of housekeeping and facilities teams, leading, motivating, and developing a large workforce to deliver excellent customer-focused services. This includes oversight of recruitment, training, performance management, and staff wellbeing, ensuring teams are engaged and equipped to meet operational demands.
A key aspect of the role is ensuring all accommodation is prepared, maintained, and serviced to agreed standards, supporting both term-time and peak seasonal business. You will work closely with internal colleagues and external contractors to coordinate cleaning, maintenance, and turnaround activities, particularly during busy transition periods.
You will play a vital role in delivering a consistently high level of customer satisfaction, responding to queries and resolving issues effectively while using feedback and data to enhance service delivery. You will also contribute to achieving occupancy and business targets, supporting the wider accommodation strategy.
