Job description
The Technician will provide specialist technical services to support research activities and carry out advanced cell culture techniques for the propagation of viruses in avian and mammalian cell lines. This will include infection, maintenance and passage of the cell cultures and maintenance of associated stocks and reagents. The successful candidate
will use a range of modern molecular and classical virological techniques for the identification and quantification of the viruses in these cell cultures, including quantitative PCR, immunofluorescent assays and evaluation of cytopathic effect.
Queen's will employ the successful candidate but they will be based at Agri-Food & Biosciences Institute at 12 Stoney Rd, Belfast BT4 3SD.
