As a Facilities Assistant, you will work as part of a flexible team supporting the day-to-day operation of our accommodation portfolio of approximately 4,000 bedrooms. The role involves general cleaning, basic maintenance, waste management, room preparation, and the upkeep of indoor and outdoor areas to ensure accommodation is safe, clean, and welcoming for students, staff, and guests.
This is a hands-on role requiring a proactive approach, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service and maintaining high standards across our accommodation sites.
About the person:
We are seeking a reliable and motivated individual to support the day-to-day operation of student and staff accommodation.
The role involves carrying out cleaning and basic maintenance duties, supporting waste management services, completing health and safety checks, moving furniture and equipment, driving University vehicles, and maintaining high standards across accommodation sites.
The successful candidate will have experience in a cleaning, facilities, maintenance or similar role, a good understanding of health and safety practices, and the ability to deliver excellent customer service. They should be able to work independently and as part of a team, maintain accurate records, and demonstrate a flexible and proactive approach to work.
A full current driving licence valid for use in the UK is essential.
