Career Opportunities at Queen's

Leukaemia & Lymphoma NI (LLNI) is the only charity in Northern Ireland dedicated to funding blood cancer research. Its main objective is to improve survival rates and quality of life for patients by supporting clinicians, scientists and students researching leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and related conditions in Northern Ireland. The post is based in the Patrick Johnston Centre for Cancer Research and the post holder will be required to develop and implement a new income generation strategy encompassing Fundraising and Events to support income plans for LLNI within the Centre. They will liaise with a wide range of individuals including clinicians, researchers, supporters, the LLBI board and key external stakeholders to ensure a planned and focussed approach to fundraising and sponsorship.

About the person:

The successful candidate should clearly demonstrate how they meet the following essential criteria:

1. A degree.
2. A minimum of 3 years’ relevant fundraising experience from individuals in the Higher Education, voluntary orhealth sectors or a proven track record of income generation in a Marketing or Sales environment 3. A minimum of one year’s relevant experience of working in a charity environment.
3. Experience of good stewardship/ key account management practices.
4. Proven track record of achieving personal and team financial targets
5. Willingness and ability to travel to events within NI and occasionally work irregular hours.

This post is available up to 2 years. Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
