Job description

The Centre for Public Health, within the School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint a Research Fellow (Breast Cancer Now). The principal aim of the post is to undertake a Breast Cancer Now funded project to investigate inequalities in breast cancer presentation, treatment and outcomes in Northern Ireland.

     

The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following criteria:      

  • A primary degree or Master’s degree in mathematics /statistics or a health-related subject.
  • Have or be about to obtain a relevant PhD in epidemiology, public health, pharmacy, applied mathematics/statistics or related discipline. 
  • Specific, research experience and skills relevant to this project e.g. database management, statistical analysis, working with large epidemiological datasets. 
  • Experience of using statistical packages such as STATA.
  • Contribution to authorship of articles in international scientific peer reviewed journals, commensurate with stage of career.

This post is available on a fixed term contract until 30 November 2025.      

Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
